The True Ingredients is a Spongebob-themed horror game.

This game is about a fish living in Bikini Bottom. He was hungry so he went to the Krusty Krab restaurant to eat a Krabby Patty.  Everything is going to be F谈蛽酞蛧虧虡虌虈虅虈虛虤菑痰汰蜁酞蛬蛡歉潭台蛪蛵蛺虇虖蜐脠潭虠坦泰蜄苔探虜虆蛻.

The game begins with Spongebob looking at you through a wooden wall as a low-pitched tune will play in the background. There are three wooden planks on the side with "Start", "Settings", and "Exit". When the player clicks "Start", the scene will pan down to show another opening with a skeleton wearing a red bandana and holding a beer bottle, which sings the Spongebob Squarepants theme song as the scene pans down again with a bubble transition to show the Krusty Krab with Patrick dancing outside. The scene zooms into the front doors and fades to black.

The game starts with the protagonist wanting to entering the Krusty Krab with a bubble transition. Squidward is where he usually is at the cashier's stand and Tom is sitting at a table on the left side. If the protagonist goes up to Tom, he will yell at him to get away. The protagonist then goes up to Squidward, who shows him a menu (all five options are "Krabby Patty"). The protagonist orders a Krabby Patty and Squidward asks him to sit down at a table. Once he does, Patrick can be heard breathing outside as he happily waves to the viewer. Tom can then be heard violently choking. The protagonist then gets up from his seat and goes back up to Tom, seeing him dead and thinking he fell asleep on ketchup.

The protagonist then asks Squidward if his Krabby Patty is ready, but Squidward tells him they were out of Krabby Patties and suggests that he'd get his own Krabby Patty from the warehouse, while also warning him not to go to "the room at the end of the corridor". The protagonist then proceeds to enter the warehouse (which is the door where the bathrooms usually are in Spongebob).

The protagonist then goes through the corridor and finds multiple rooms. The first room he finds is locked. The second room contains multiple boxes and shelves, a crate full of raw Krabby Patties with a slot above it in the wall, a dumpster, and a blood-stained crowbar. The third room has blood coming out from underneath the door, which the protagonist thinks is ketchup and the room is where they keep the ketchups. The fourth room, all the way at the end of the corridor, has a black skull and crossbones on the door. If he enters, he will enter another corridor with multiple boxes at the end, only for Mr. Krabs to suddenly come out from the corner and attack him.

Once the protagonist picks out a Krabby Patty and brings it to Squidward, he will ask him to go into the kitchen to cook it. Outside, Patrick can be seen slamming his head against the doors. The protagonist then goes into the kitchen to cook his Krabby Patty. Once it's done, he puts it on a bun and a victory horn noise will play. He then goes back to Squidward, who tells him he can now enjoy it, then sits back down at his table and eats his Krabby Patty (which has a Minecraft eating noise), which he then says tastes like his grandmother's toenails. He then goes back to Squidward to pay for his Krabby Patty, only to find out that his Krabby Patty was too expensive for him to pay for, so he offers to go back home and get money to pay for his Krabby Patty. Squidward then complains about the protagonist not having any money and Mr. Krabs will suddenly appear behind him and attack him.

The protagonist then wakes up in a dark room with starfish, fish skeletons hanging from meat hooks, boxes, and a crate with orange balls inside of it. He also meets Plankton, who is locked in a cage for trying to steal the secret formula. After putting in the door code for the amount of objects that are in the room, he manages to escape and goes back to the room where the box of raw Krabby Patties was to get the crowbar. He uses that crowbar to break the lock on Plankton's cage and frees him, then puts the crowbar back and enters the same room with the skull and crossbones door at the end of the corridor.

Once he enters, he will come across the vault where the Krabby Patty secret formula is kept with another code. To find it, he goes into a room on the other side with a Windows computer. After turning it on, an ad for a free gift card pops up. Once the protagonist clicks on the ad, the music video for "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley will play on the computer's screen, with four numbers (the code for the vault appearing on the screen as well). After getting the code, he goes back to the vault and inputs the code to open it, revealing the secret formula. Plankton then tells the protagonist he will finally find out what makes the Krabby Patty taste so good, then enters the vault to get the formula, only to be crushed between two pillars and killed.

An alarm will then go off in the hallways. As the door at the very end of the room will open. After entering it, the protagonist turns around and sees Spongebob entering the room behind him as the door closes. He then runs through the hallway as Spongebob chases after him roaring. He will eventually make it to the very end where he will either find a door with another code which reads "Shrek Is" and another passcode or he will keep running until he comes to the end.

If the protagonist chooses to keep running, he will eventually find a room with a large drop that leads to a grinder. Spongebob will then push him into the grinder. His remains will then be processed into a Krabby Patty, which falls through the slot into the crate full of Krabby Patties while Patrick watches.

If the protagonist chooses to try to open the door, he will have to input the word "love" as the code. Once he does, the door will open to reveal Shrek, who goes into a cowboy standoff with Spongebob as western music plays in the background. Spongebob pulls out a pistol and shoots Shrek, but he is unaffected by it, so he pulls out an RPG and blows up Spongebob, saving the protagonist.
